Hatraklin  restaurant specializes in meat and wine.
The restaurant was founded with the vision of opening a restaurant based on the purity of local produce, thus promoting businesses from the Galilee and the Golan Heights,
With the intention of creating jobs in the periphery, and will engage in social action and contribution to the community.
The lounge is housed in a restored two-story building in Neve Tzedek, with a bright garden, creating an intimate and special atmosphere.
The owner, Yossi Ben Odis, has a rich past in the field of culinary and wine, he is the one who built the wine collection, over 100 types of wine, which is also sold separately.

The place

A restored building in the Neve Tzedek neighborhood, built in 1920, as a hotel for the British officers who served in Israel during the Mandate. The building has preserved the original floors and ceiling paintings in each room. The place has been renovated with attention to the original details, and with the intention of creating inviting and intimate accommodation spaces, where guests can relax and enjoy a quality meal in a magical atmosphere. The restaurant has a closed, quiet and spacious backyard, Where you can dine, as well as do events.

The story of Yossi Ben Odis

Yossi Ben Odis, sommelier and owner of “The Lounge – Meat and Wine Bistro” Discovered his love of wine in his youth when he noticed a huge amount of wines in a restaurant warehouse in the Galilee while riding as usual as a teenager on horses in the area. He discovered that the world of wine is a world in its entirety. The subject fascinated him and since then he has not stopped learning, tasting and talking to top wine people. As the owner and sommelier of the “Lounge”, he works with the best wineries in Israel, writes about wine, lives and breathes Israeli wines. The name ´Hatraklin´ translates to ´The Lounge´ and was chosen to represent our perception of easy going and relaxed dining experience incorporating the best quality food and wine that Israel has to offer. We have made it our cause to offer our customers a warm and cozy environment in which to experience good service, amazing boutique wines and unmatched quality of beef.

He always prefers to recommend to his customers the special wineries and wines. As a philosophical and economic ideology, he has a strong fondness for raw materials in general and wines in particular that are produced in Israel.

Today Yossi is the oldest sommelier (wine expert) in the country, and in 2019 he represented Israel in the “World Culinary Championships” held in St. Petersburg, the competition was attended by the best ships, waiters and sommelier of each country – the Israeli team returned to Israel with a World Cup trophy, and Yossi was announced As the best sommelier in the world for this year, in September Yossi will award the World Cup trophy to the next country as the main judge of the competition.

In other years, Yossi joined a number of leading winemakers, who together, established the Chateau de Galilee boutique winery, which aimed to produce unique quality wines from the vineyards of Chateau de Galilee in the Upper Galilee, the same area where he used to ride horses with his girls.
